Hi and welcome everyone! My name is Melani, I have been Plant-based for 17 years and I am Ironman Athlete. My journey began after I had salmonella poisoning from eating an old-fashioned chicken caesar salad in 2007. I began to think about food quality and my desire to live a more mindful lifestyle. I became very interested in learning about nutrient-dense-food and where to find it. I intuitively knew that my well being depended upon nutritional abundance. Over the past twenty years, I have tried many different pathways to enjoying food that include raw-food, steamed food, greens, fruits, legumes, fermentation, sprouting, metabolic’s, food-combining etc. I have walked in all of these shoes many times over. Ultimately, what has worked for me is balance. A balance of body, mind and spirit. There is more than one solution to wellbeing. We are complex and what I respond to nutritionally may not be for you, for example.  Balance is universal for all that exists on this earth. Balance is what we want to in our lives to live well. 

I discovered that what brings me joy is the power of fresh whole foods, rooted in Plant-Based nutrition. I became certified at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2000 and Plant-based Certified in 2015 at The Center For Nutritional Studies founded by Dr. T. Colin Campbell at e-Cornell. I also hold a LEED Green Associate certification in Green Building and Sustainability. I graduated from George Washington University with a BA in Psychology and I'm a fifteen-time marathoner, ultra-runner, triathlete and Ironman-WO-man. 

I have created a dynamic and enthusiastic approach to helping others thrive in a demanding world. By living an active lifestyle, supporting environmental sustainability, engaging in mindful practices, eating nutritionally dense food, I lead by example. I am here to support others on their life’s journey towards a healthier version of themselves. To maintain wellbeing, it is important to be mindful of what we take in and what we put out to the world.
